Defence counsel Andre Jumabhoy unwell; court is adjourned until tomorrow
Mr Aristotle Emmanuel Eng from Pritam Singh’s defence team says Mr Andre Jumabhoy is unwell today.
Mr Jumabhoy has seen a doctor and received a medical certificate for two days that states he is unfit to attend court.
The defence has applied for the hearing to be stood down until tomorrow afternoon.
The prosecution expresses no issues with this and wishes Mr Jumabhoy a “speedy recovery”.
Court is adjourned for the day and is expected to resume tomorrow at 2.30pm.

Hearing hasn’t started; lawyers from both sides have stepped out of courtroom
The hearing has not started yet. Both Mr Aristotle Emmanuel Eng and Deputy Attorney-General Ang Cheng Hock have stepped out of the courtroom.
Pritam Singh is seen conversing with his father Amarjit Singh – a former district judge who is assisting the defence team – and has not left the courtroom.

The hearing is slated to begin at 11.20am.
